Take a look at this.

It is the first camera I have seen in that price range that may have actually done it right.

Wow... I had to do a double-take when I saw that Nigel posted something about a camcorder!
Cool stuff. Can't wait to see what other toys emerge from NAB 2005.

Lots of stuff is coming out. A new Panasonic as well as this JVC and some stuff from all the big players. A friend told me about this camera and said that he is thinking of getting one. At first I just blew it off as another HDV camcorder. Then when he sent me that link and I read it. It just seemed like JVC made come rock solid choices on what is needed to make a nice unit.
This is by far what is going to get me to switch--That will never happen. It does however make me want to shoot some stuff and do some tests. Who knows--It may just look like Video Shit.
Good Luck

I think that they would be really good for TV work. From what I understand, they could well edge out the almighty DigiBeta as they seem to be similar, if not cheaper, in cost.

They still do "ER" on 35mm though.

DigiBeta will not get crushed by these cameras but by the steep decline in price for the HDCAM format. I remember the HDW-900 costing ?175,000 only three years ago. Now it's already down to about ?40,000 (iirc). Give it one more year and DigiBeta will have gone the way of BetaSP.
